Mm... Taking away someone's precious person isn't a matter you can just brush away, and it's not exactly up to anyone else to offer forgiveness in the first place. [That is a Murder Victim's Right if they so choose, and he's pretty sure both Steph and Belph agree.]
I can't speak on their behalf when it comes to exactly what their thoughts or feelings were, but it's not like they weren't angry and upset. Just understanding of the circumstances that led to what happened.
[ if something like that had happened to them, he would have never forgiven it - never. He never forgave his family for what they did to Usagi. If Steph or Belph had been attacked - no, killed, then he would have gotten vengeance no matter the cost. Is that wrong? Is he at fault again - is this the dark side of him that they don't like? Or did he simply overstate his own importance to them...? All of the answers make him feel queasy. ]
[There's a lot he could say here, based on what he knows personally and what he's seen, and the conversations he's had. But in the end, it's largely speculation. And in this particular instance - it's not really his business to explain, anyway. His head cants gently to the side as he considers his next words.]
