[ it was not his plan to confront Wei Wuxian tonight. He just wanted something to eat or drink that wasn't from C*stco's cafeteria, and it just so happens that Wei Wuxian is in there at the same time. His nose wrinkles in distaste, and Hikage marches over. ]
[HERE THEY ARE, WITH THEIR STRUGGLES. Wei Wuxian is absolutely heating up hangover soup, but he'll turn when he hears Hikage's voice. He ain't about to go approaching the people he supermurdered, but he sure doesn't shy away from his approach, either.
Rather, he carefully sets his spoon down and pushes the pot back a bit so he won't knock it over before facing him completely.]
[ There's no response! In fact, he never stops approaching, and, once he's close enough, he grits his teeth, balls his hands into fists, and throws an angry right hook right at the other man's face without mercy.
He's not exactly a muscular giant, or even trained in the martial arts - but, damn it, this is the only way he can resolve this particular problem. ]
[FOR ALL HIS DRAMATIC WHINING he sure does take getting socked in the face like a champ. His head snaps to the side and he stumbles a bit, but keeps his hands carefully held so he doesn't touch the burner or knock anything over.
After a beat, he pops his jaw, rubbing the already-reddening spot. IS THERE A BITCHES IMPRINT.
Anyway:] --I won't apologize for killing you. [DEADASS. He made his choices and he's not going to pretend like he'd have done differently.] Don't get the feeling you're the type of person who'd want one, anyway. But I'll give you any answers you'd like, another hit, space if you want it.
[A gentle, sloping shrug. It is TRULY the least he can do.]
[ THERE IS ABSOLUTELY A BITCHES IMPRINT, THANK YOU FOR REMINDING ME. it's backwards, though, so it's more like a SEHCTIB imprint.
Hikage's face is twisted into a snarl, but he doesn't go for a second hit; he lets his hands drop to his sides. ]
I don't want your apology. Your answers are probably worthless, too. You chose me because you knew no one would care except them. [ jabbing a finger at him! ] I hope you begged forgiveness from Stephanie and Belph. Watching you pretend to be friends with them... I wanted to put a bullet in your skull.
[THANKS FOR GIVING ME THE SEHCTIB IMPRINT I WILL TREASURE IT FOREVER. Wei Wuxian will probably laugh about it too which is absolutely stupid.
Anyway, since he didn't have an apology to give in the first place and Hikage is more or less dead-on with that assumption (the other primary reason basically being "he's an asshole so he will probably be killed eventually anyway", terrible), he just raises his shoulders in a gentle, sloping shrug.]
I wasn't pretending. [THIS IS THE ONLY THING HE TAKES ISSUE WITH HERE APPARENTLY.] I do like them both; I'd have told them before anyone else, if I could have. Though I'd have certainly felt the same in your position! Anyway - I didn't- [Beg for forgiveness or EVEN APOLOGIZE.] -but I did talk to them as soon as I could. All matters there are settled.
[THIS IS A SAD REACTION he honestly feels worse about this than he did about actually killing Hikage, oh my god.]
Mm... Taking away someone's precious person isn't a matter you can just brush away, and it's not exactly up to anyone else to offer forgiveness in the first place. [That is a Murder Victim's Right if they so choose, and he's pretty sure both Steph and Belph agree.]
I can't speak on their behalf when it comes to exactly what their thoughts or feelings were, but it's not like they weren't angry and upset. Just understanding of the circumstances that led to what happened.
[ if something like that had happened to them, he would have never forgiven it - never. He never forgave his family for what they did to Usagi. If Steph or Belph had been attacked - no, killed, then he would have gotten vengeance no matter the cost. Is that wrong? Is he at fault again - is this the dark side of him that they don't like? Or did he simply overstate his own importance to them...? All of the answers make him feel queasy. ]
[There's a lot he could say here, based on what he knows personally and what he's seen, and the conversations he's had. But in the end, it's largely speculation. And in this particular instance - it's not really his business to explain, anyway. His head cants gently to the side as he considers his next words.]
...Ask them that, now that you can. I can't speak on anyone's behalf but my own, but I'm sure they have plenty to say.
