... You're in danger.
[ it's not until Sunday evening that Hikage tracks down Akechi, wherever he might be. To be honest, Hikage still looks like garbage; his pants and some of his sleeve are stained with blood from dealing with Stephanie's grievous injury earlier in the day, and he looks more like a dead man than he ever has, his skin pale and eyes dark. The manic energy buzzing in his pupiles when he talks to Akechi is essentially absent - or it might be more accurate to say it's diffused across his whole body. He's taught with some kind of stress.
Basically, he looks bad. But he's not dead. Which surprises him, considering how close Stephanie got to dying this morning and how close he came to taking care of himself last night. For some reason, he's still clinging to survival. ]

[ he's scum - he's the worst kind of person there is. He does nothing but lie and steal and disappoint. That's why he became the master of the manor; reveling in it was the only way he could cope with it. He knew he couldn't find happiness anywhere else in the world.
He thought he knew that, at least... But there are people here who were willing to forgive him, even so. ]
... You're like me. That's why I'm telling you. Unlike me, you don't have the luxury of waiting a hundred years for someone to prove you wrong.

[Akechi scoffs, immediately looking away from Hikage, immediately adjusting his tie with a tigh expression]
I have no qualms with the direction in which my narrative is going.
[he replies, tone curt. he beat Kurusu. he came here, but he killed a man and got away with it and got a wish. there are people who have forgiven him as well, and as foolish as he thinks they are, he can use them to his advantage. all he has to do is survive. . . and go home, where he can finally complete his years-long quest for revenge]
[Akechi is doing just fine]
[that's what he tells himself]
