Jul. 28th, 2018 10:52 pm[ He's not looking for Jae-ha. There are exactly two people in this place that Hikage would say he cares about - maybe three - and he isn't one of them. Even if he'd written that letter. ANd even if Jae-ha had been right about far too much.
Maybe that's why he still holds a feeling of wariness and resentment towards him - or is it fear? He doesn't feel comfortable being around someone who can see through him so easily. But, simultaneously... it means he doesn't have to hide. Maybe that makes him uncomfortable, too.
All this to say is that Hikage spots Jae-ha on his way to the dorms and immediately freezes up like a deer in the headlights. ]

Jul. 28th, 2018 10:20 pm[ He's so happy that he honestly doesn't know quite what to do with himself - he's afraid of feeling happy like this. It's the first time anything's worked out for him; if he embraces this emotion, he fears it will collapse and turn to dust like all the other good things he's ever had.
Part of him is still telling him to run away and hide. It's safer that way; he can't be hurt. But that part has become so small now, in the face of the friendships he's made and the success he's actually had. He'd headed towards hope instead of despair, and now it's in his hands. Hikage can't keep the emotions in.
He probably doesn't even wait until they go back to their room to find her. This time, he's the one who reaches out, and he takes her wrist. ]

Jul. 27th, 2018 09:40 pm[ sometime later, when Belph is camping out at his and Steph's room... Hikage will be gone for an hour or two, leaving them time by themselves, but he does return eventually! Not only that, he returns wearing an apron and with some oven mitts on. The reason for this? He has a crock pot in his hands, which he sets down on the table in their room. ]

in any case, if they peer inside, they'll see some kind of stew-type thing in there - one sniff makes it clear that it's curry. There are plenty of different vegetables in there, along with what appear to be shrimp. ]

[ literally as soon as he leaves the tailor and hears the news from the Dragon and Tiger, he's going to find Belph and run up to him, his expression a mixture of alarm and relief.
He was worried - truly. And he still is - especially knowing his partner is dead. There's a sour feeling unraveling in the pit of his stomach like a black snack, but for the moment, he keeps it down. ]

He's feeling a little more stable, a little more confident, after seeing that both Eichi and Akechi survived - and so he goes to find her a little while later once he's given her some time to herself. If she's anything like he is, she probably needs it.

Jul. 21st, 2018 11:49 pm[ The main reason they're all together is because they have to figure out some sort of plan. Time is clearly running out, and, to be honest, so is Hikage's sanity. Feeling himself slowly chipped away is a chillingly familiar sensation, and he almost welcomes it for the escape from reality it offers.
But he doesn't, because he wants to be with them. And that's the other reason they're here in his and Steph's room. He's afraid that if he's away from them, he'll forget the way he felt when they first confided in him - the happiness he's trying so hard to preserve now.
That said, he looks considerably haggard, and he doesn't say anything right away; he simply looks between the two of them, waiting for someone to say something, anything that might give him a little bit of hope to hang onto. ]

Jul. 21st, 2018 11:42 pm[ Hikage doesn't go to find Akechi for quite a while; he has a lot of baggage of his own to sort through, as was made spectacularly obvious at the end of the trial. A few hours have passed before he makes his appearance. He doesn't come bearing food or drinks or even weapons. He just brings himself, with a rather complex emotion on his face that can't quite be determined. ]

[ Hikage sees him leaving the scene, and follows after him not long after, catching up to him as soon as he's able to. He seemed like a man on a mission. Normally, he'd just leave Belph to said mission - but he finds that he can't. In a sense, Belph reminds him of himself; both of them seem on the verge of disappearing at any moment with how little attachment they have to their lives. He doesn't want to leave him alone when he'd been looking so fragile before.
It's been a while since he cared about someone. ]
